Contexto Traduções Técnicas was organized in 2002 to provide certified, sworn translations, as well as non-certified, free translations, from and into Brazilian Portuguese.

All certified translations between Portuguese and English are personally made by M. Celina A. Neves, a certified public translator, with over 40 years translation experience in Brazil and in the United States. Celina is the owner,  CEO as well as general manager of the company.

Celina attended Immaculata High School in Washington, D.C., and earned the University of Michigan Certificate of Proficiency in English. Back in Brazil, she worked for five years at the Universidade do Brasil (now UFRJ) School of Dentistry translating technical texts from English into Portuguese. A student of Law at Universidade do Estado da Guanabara (now UERJ), Celina graduated from Universidade de Brasília-UnB with a certification in ESL (English as a Second Language) Teaching, and worked as an ESL teacher at Sociedade Brasileira de Cultura Inglesa among other well-known English language schools. Returning to the U.S., she lived in New York City working as an interpreter of English and Brazilian Portuguese. She worked for 8 years as a U.S. Foreign Service National Employee, first in the Press Section of the American Embassy in Brasilia, and then in the Administrative Section of the Consulate General in Sao Paulo. Having passed a public competitive examination, Celina became in 2000 a Certified Public Translator registered at the State of Sao Paulo Commercial Registry under number 1281.

Requests for certified translations from/into other languages are handed over to certified public translators accredited for such languages.
